FREE to survivors, their immediate family and/or caregivers.  Additional family and friends $5.

 

NOTE:  This event is on a Sunday

 

Come join us as we kick off “Brain Injury Awareness Month” and celebrate all of the awesome survivors in our lives! 

 

Wear your GREEN We’re MOVING FORWARD! shirt.  If you don't have one,  "click here" to see if your size is available.  We can deliver your shirt(s) at one of the upcoming activities you will be attending or at the picnic.  Or feel free to wear any green shirt you may have.

 

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and water bottles will be provided.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.   If you have dietary requirements, please feel free to bring your own food.

Park Features:

-(6) Large Ramada’s (all reserved for our group) with (6) BBQ's and sinks

-Fishing Lake - fishing permit required

-Kids playground - swing sets (splash pad not open during this time of year)

-Restroom - near kids playground

Parking is available at 81st Avenue and Olive.  This is the area closest to our Ramada(s).  If this parking lot is full, you can park off of 83rd Avenue at the main entrance of the park.

WMF will provide a large number of board games and yard games.  If you have any you would like to bring, please make sure yours are marked with your name.  Do not bring anything that has stakes, as they are not allowed.

It is not necessary to bring chairs, as there is plenty of seating for everyone. 

 

This event will take place rain or shine! Please dress accordingly, bring hats, sunscreen and your camera.

We need volunteers.  If you would like to help out, please register by midnight of 3/2/18.  Free lunch will be provided.

 

Volunteer shifts:

11:30 – 1:00 Set up

1:00 – 4:30 Assist with keeping food filled, food area clean, helping with drink refills, picking up trash and playing games/socializing with survivors and their family members. 

4:30 – 5:00 Clean up.  Pick up trash, wipe down tables, clean up BBQ/sink areas.  We have to have everything cleaned up and out of the area by 5:00.
